We are honoured to announce the formation of the
Father John Tataryn  Legacy Scholarship
to commemorate not only his 50th ordination anniversary along with the 50th anniversary for our parish. By honouring Father John we are creating a legacy which would benefit others but would also be an investment into our collective futures. In the spirit of our celebration, future scholarship recipients will be reminded of Father John’s commitment to our parish, love for our Ukrainian community and all he has done for the past fifty years.

The Parish Council has committed to support this perpetual gift of education by forming a committee which will establish the criteria for the awarding of the scholarship.  The committee will administer the Scholarship Fund, and the selection of the award recipient(s) will be based on the criteria which Father John feels reflects the spirit of faith and community leadership.

Since this scholarship is named in honour of Father John, he will be a member of this committee and will assist us in this process.

This scholarship will be funded through personal gifts from our community members on an ongoing basis.

Our deep appreciation for Father John’s spiritual and community leadership will continue to inspire our youth through this Legacy Scholarship.  The first recipient will be presented with this scholarship at our parish Jubilee Celebration in October.

If you wish to honour Father John by making a personal gift to this Legacy Scholarship, envelopes will be available from the Ushers or through the church office.
